MINI Shopping

I am going MINI shopping today! I am very excited. I wore special MINI shopping shoes and apparently I already look like a MINI driver. If they actually have a British Racing Green Automatic for us to test drive, well, I just may pee my pants I'd be so excited.

Mind you, Andy will be doing the actual test drive - stupid laws about not allowing learners to test drive new vehicles. And this is only the first stop of many this weekend as we hunt out a car for me to learn to drive on.

But it would be - just. so. great. If I got a MINI.

Dare to dream kiddies.

And now for another creation...Pajamma Day

Because the creative are never happy standing still...here is something else that the co-pilot and I created - Pajamma Day (That's the way I like to spell it event though I know the red line will come up). You'll want to take this idea too, but that's ok - take it and run with it. The more the merrier. The world would be a better place with more Pajamma Days (I'd certainly have fewer gray hairs).

Basically, you pick a day, any day that works for you and your honey, or your family, or your solo-self (EVERYONE deserves Pajamma Day). You need to get all of your chores done so you have the vast expanse of 24 hours ahead of you with nothing to do. No cleaning, no laundry, no shopping - it all has to be done. You stock up on your favoutite treats (ours usually includes chips, ice cream and jumbo sizes of our favourite chocolate bars), get the take out menus at the ready (for there is no cooking on Pajamma Day) and take a visit to Blockbuster for at least 4 DVDs. Then get your most comfy pajamas ready...

The goal of the day is to just lounge around, vegetate in front of the TV watching new vids or classics that you love, eating your favourite foods and making sure that you DO NOTHING! It's a day to recharge your batteries when you've been running around a little too much and to reconnect with your loved ones (well at least the ones who are doing Pajamma Day with you). It's super indulgent - super relaxing - and super fun.

But be careful; Pajamma Day can be contagious. Everyday is not Pajamma Day; if it was it wouldn't be that special day a few times a year that you look forward to.

Plus, taking a day off should refocus your Punch-MINI skills.

Wow, I am such a generous person World. First I bring you Punch-MINI, now I bring you Pajamma Day. See - I'm adding to my dash.

(Dis)Advantages or The way I see it from where I sit

This topic came up the other day - who has the upper hand when playing Punch-MINI; the driver or the passenger?

Instantly I said it was the driver - there have been many, many, many times when Andy has gotten me on a MINI that he's seen coming towards us on the other side of the street but that was blocked from my view because of the car ahead of us and angles.

Of course, Andy disagreed with me and said that the passenger had the advantage because they can scan parking lots and side streets while the driver has to concentrate on a pesky thing called driving.

Mind you, Andy scans parking lots while he's driving anyways, but I digress.

So which is it? The driver or the passenger? The passenger or the driver?

Upon further consideration, I've come to the conclusion it's secret option 3, the back seat passenger. Especially if the person is sitting in the middle. They gain the benefits of both the driver's angles and view of oncoming traffic and the ability to scan the area they are driving by. And they can decide to punch either the driver, the passenger, or both. This little theory of mine was proven by my bother when we went to Buffalo a little while back and he smashed his way through the trip.

So my advice is to be the back seat passenger whenever possible. Be a back seat driver while you're at it.

Hurt by a Newb

Literally!

So last night I went out with some people and on the way to the pub, I introduced, well let's call him B (to protect his anonymity), to the game. Of course this was after he told a story about how he basically knocked out this other guy on a dare. What was I thinking?

Anyhoo - flash back 2 days ago, when the grand supreme little darling and I went to the Travel clinic to get some shots for our upcoming trip. Of course we both got jabbed in our punching arms so Andy wisely called a truce until our bruises had healed. Wise man - I should have done the same with other players. Instead I just asked them to punch my knee instead.

You see where this is going, right?

So back to the trip to the pub, B is watching me and the other player punch back and forth, amazed at our keen MINI spotting skills. And then he saw it - a MINI that neither of us had seen yet. You remember that rush don't you? Well B totally got it...

...and wailed my sore shoulder.

Yeah it hurt.

B was super apologetic and felt really bad. For the rest of the night when he saw a MINI, he tapped me lightly (on the other shoulder, of course).

The moral of the story, it's good to spread the word about Punch-Mini. It's a super fun game and a great way to release some of that built up aggression. Just be careful when playing with newbs.

They just might get carried away! :P

Fist Punch

Wow...this is happening more and more when Andy and I are in the car.

A fist punch is when you both see a MINI at the same time (well practically) and instead of connecting with a softer part of each other, you actually punch each other's fists. Wham-right in the knuckles!

After a few times you start to learn to punch more softly because boy can this hurt.

Given my track record lately, it's a good sign for me. It's a bad one for the grand supreme little darling. HA HA!

Boss Beating

I finally feel strong enough to share this with you friends, but my boss beats me. Yes, yes she does.

Of course it's only because I've beaten her numerous times but that's besides the point. The other day on a Starbucks run, she absolutely pummeled me, even before we pick up our Grande double shot no foam lattes. I couldn't believe it.

But it just goes to show you that anyone can pick-up and get game with this game.
