So there seems to be a little confusion over what to say when you punch someone (after seeing a Mini, of course). In order to shed some light, dear friends, I've decided to break it down to the different levels of playing expertise:
Beginners - Those who have just started playing, those who are playing but don't yet know it and those beenies under the age of 14.
When you see a Mini, you should turn to the person beside you and punch them (gently if you are a beenie under the age of 14). While doing this, you should exclaim at the top of your lungs, "Punch-Mini!!!" If the person you've punched was not aware they were playing the game, they will be now. When playing at this level, you don't need to mention colour and the other player cannot invoke the PMPP (Nice try Dan). Don't forget, if the Mini has racing stripes you are permitted two slugs, as long as you identify the racing stripes by saying, "Punch-Mini racing stripes!!!"
Yelling it out is half of the fun at this level, particularly for teeney beenies.
Intermediate Players - Those who have been playing a while
After you have been playing awhile, screaming out "Punch-Mini!!!" every time you see a g-d Mini gets tiring, and you start sounding no better than those Punch-Buggy or (sadly shakes head) Punch-Smarti losers (yeah, I know, tell me about it). When you feel you have enough experience, and for this we'll assume that you can be the judge of that, you can simply yell out the colour (or colour plus racing stripes) when you see a Mini.
Imagine it sounding something like this, "British Racing Green Racing Stripes" *punch, punch*.
Elite Status - Andy and me
Once you have been playing this as long as we have, there are no words. You have transcended the yell (although you can if you want to). When Andy and I play, especially lately, it sounds something like this:
Andy - *punches shoulder*
Anna - "Where? Where? Oh sh*t! "

Hmm... Well, I would consider myself an intermediate player; but, then what happens if I'm playing with a beenie. Is there a "handicap" I need to give the other person?
ReplyDeleteAlways with the questions...
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 - you are not yet an Intermediate player
Number 2 - you should always play at a beginner level with a beenie - else you could be charged with child abuse.
